Artist Statement:

I first chose not to kill myself at age 17, and I've have to make that same decision every day since then. I want to explore a path to a better world. Art should be a talisman that we hang around our necks to keep us moving when we are ready to surrender. It must see and understand the horror of being alive and offer hope and succor if hope is possible, and witness if not. My work is a set of experiments towards that end. It is embodied vulnerability and intimacy, filtered through sex and abjection and transness. I aim to build a ladder into the pit, and a ladder goes both ways.
